Chaya van Essen is known for her excellence in the real estate industry. With more than 20 years experience, van Essen’s client roster includes investment bankers, movie industry executives, television personalities, government officials, business owners, attorneys, investors, families and retirees. With her start in multi-family properties, van Essen loves the challenge of positioning any property so as to realize its full value potential. No property is too small or too large for her as evidenced by her sale of a smaller commercial retail property in Compton as well as the sale of a large project valued at $200 Million in New York. Nowadays, van Essen focuses mainly on Single Family Residences in the Beverly Hills and Greater Los Angeles areas at the most exclusive brokerage of Carolwood Estates.
Having moved by herself from the Netherlands to the United States at the age of 16, it took grit and perseverance to adapt and make the United States her home. Van Essen has a deep appreciation of the US and California in particular. After having moved a few times over the years, van Essen has been residing in Beverly Hills for almost 30 years. In the 90’s van Essen worked at Latham & Watkins as Liaison between the L & W legal team and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the UN, to prepare for trial.
